I entered a contest!

I don't really enter contests.
I mean I often think about entering contests, but being the champion procrastinator that I am, I rarely do.
And I'm not talking about the leave a comment on someone's blog kind.
No, this contest involved making fabric flowers and using them in creative ways.
Duh! Now what would be my excuse for not entering this one.
So I did. yay me!

When I turned my interests from paper to fabric, I found this site and they are an amazing resource, not to mention they have giveaways and fun contests often. The blog is full of tutorials and fabulous ideas. And they have a store, and a message board where you can get all kinds of help. You should check it out if you have any fabric interests at all.

All of the entries for the contest were uploaded to a flickr account created specifically for the contest. You might want to take a look there too. Lots of fun stuff.

Anyway, they will be announcing the winers on Wednesday, so wish me luck!!!

I've added some things to the shop.
Funny thing is that I can't seem to get past 38 items. Every time I get 1 or 2 listed, I sell something. What a wonderful dilemma. If I could just get my act together and get a stockpile of goods!

I would really, really love to try a craft fair/show one of these days. Never done anything like that. Any thoughts?





Gotta go, trying to get the kitchen floor mopped all the whilst feeling allergyish. Not a good mix if you know what I mean!!!

One of the things I really love about the web, is connecting with people. People you know, people you never would have known otherwise, people you've seen in print...
It's just amazing.

And the opportunities it opens..
Job offers, selling your handmade products, getting featured here and there...

Which leads me to this...

Monday Mornin' and I Feel Fine...

Friday I'll have travelin' on my mind.
Not really, but remember that Fleetwood Mac song? Or was it after Fleetwood Mac?
Whatever...
And it's not even mornin' any more. I guess that's creative license, ha.

Anyway, I had a great weekend.
Uneventful really. But for my birthday the 4 of us headed down to Tybee and stayed one night at family's home on the back river. Believe me, with a 17 year old and a socially active nearly 13 year old, the opportunity for this very short get together is getting harder and harder!!! It was such a treat for me that the 4 of us squeezed onto a sofa together and spent the evening arguing over what to watch on TV. The kids played a couple of card games, and I just got to enjoy all of us getting alng together!!! I loved it. Andrew didn't even get (ha! that's not how he would have seen it) to sit on the beach with us the next day as he had to head in to town to work, but it was still great. We, along with some other family we don't get to see nearly enough all went out to dinner together the next night too, and that was great.
I know, my needs are simple. Don't ever let my husband say I'm high maintenance because belive me, I'm not.

Back to school today for the chillens (that's Southern for children, but not sure of th spelling!), except that Andrew i at a convention in Jekyll with the GANHS (GA National Honor Society). That should be fun. 7 guys in a 2 bedroom villa with 1 1/2 baths! Could be worse, if it was girls, right!!! He gets to miss 2 days of school, and ther are girls there, oooh. Can't wait to try to drag some info out of him tomorrow. Boys!!!

it's obvious, i've been bad...

at blogging this week, that is.
Obvious because I haven't been posting regularly and because I still have my Easter blog decor going on here.
Oh well, I haven't been around as much on the old computer this week, and when I have it's been checking on shipments and new orders.
Yay, business has been good!

Anyhoo, the kids have been on Spring break this week and I hope to get back into a routine again soon.
Although, I have to admit, it has felt good to not be spending SO much time here! You know, like I actually have a life!!!

Still in a rental car. Seems my carpet is on backorder from Germany!

Tomorrow is my birthday.

We had a wonderful Easter, hope y'all did too!


Took this of my cell phone toting nearly teen (as in 6 weeks away!). I knew this would happen. It goes everwhere with her! I just love how this photo just captured something special for me. I don't know, I see that it is absolutely nothing spectacular, but it just speaks volumes to me. I know, I know, I should be scrapping!

Just acquired a great assortment of Lilly fabrics.

finishing up...

Just finishing up a few orders that have been hanging around my neck like an albatross. Not really, I just feel so much better when they are completed and on their way. Some of you may know that I have not always been the best about finishing projects. But that's when they are for myself, I do not flake on customers.

I cannot believe Easter is in 2 days. 2 days!!!
Well, when your kids are nearly 13 and 17, there's not much to do for Easter. A little gum or candy, maybe a beach towel or a new bathing suit or pair of flip-flops. That's about all around here.
Heading to Tybee for a big gasthering, with lots of food, lots of younger kids, a fabulous egg hunt and hopefully beautiful weather.

so proud!

Well, my boy got the results of his first SAT back and all i'm gonna say about that is, i am so proud of him! I don't know how he does it, but he sure makes me proud. Of course his in school suspension yesterday kind of takes away from it, but at least he is well rounded? Want to know what he did for the suspension? OK, keep in mind he IS at an all-boy high school. After school the other day, one of his friends left his keys in his car, so my boy decides it would be funny to move it to another spot to freak him out. Funny right? Well the parking lot police (not really police, just someone that works at the school and oversees the parking lot at dismissal!) didn't think so. My boy was given Saturday detention, which he forgot about, not to mention he just started back at work that Saturday. Consequences? In school suspension.

Now tell me, would you be upset?

Am I a bad mother?

Because I thought it was kinda funny myself!

I couldn't get mad at him.

I have issues right now.
Mostly car issues.
Would you bleieve that the jackass hit usin the rear so hard that it knocked the seal loose on the windshield.
The windshield!!!
I guess we really are lucky no one got hurt.
At least not in our car.
Don't know about the other car.
Anyway, when we had some of our infamous rain recently, water got into my car and shorted out some computer something or other, and so I had to be towed and it took $600ish just to get it running again.
Now, we have to have the windshield taken out and resealed and the interior has to taken apart and dried, etc., etc.
I don't even want the dang car any more.
seriously!!!
And I haven't had a car or a rental since Monday, and won't be getting one until Monday afternoon.
Can I just say this whole thing blows!

I can't wait till this whole thing is a distant memory and y'all don't have to listen to me whining any more.
Know what I'm sayin'?
